The nose gives you an impression that this is a soft rye with vanilla, wood, and cinnamon. The palate however starts off hot right away followed by spice and pepper and back to the vanilla. The finish reminds you quickly that this is a hot rye with some lovely spice and licorice. You would be hard pressed to find a better rye in this price range.

The nose is about as light as a bourbon can get. The palate is much of the same, light sweetness on both, buttery. This almost reminds me of canadian whiskey. The finish is the best part of this expression, there is some nice rye spice here. Overall, this is an ultra smooth bourbon with no real character.

The nose has a lot of oak and honey with some brown sugar. The palate has a typical American bourbon big caramel taste (I like this taste) more wood, really nice balance here, there is a touch of citrus thats lingers into the finish. The finish reminds me of pancakes and marmalade. For the cost this is a splendid purchase. Not overly complex but enjoyable.

The nose has some nice oak and spice. The palate has loads of caramel, wood, spice, and tobacco. The finish is a bit dry and oaky, lingers with some dark fruit. I like this much better than the other Jim Beam products.

The nose is great and has some nice maple and spice to it, reminds me a bit of the JD single barrel. The palate is a different story, kind of bland with a slight bit of rye and spicy sweetness, almost like a cheap syrup. The finish has some sort of burned flavor to it, burned caramal maybe. Not much is going on here and slightly offensive in the finish. I’m not a buyer.

Buffalo Trace has said that this will be a regular expression. However, so far it has been a bit hard to find for customers. The nose on this is wood, spice and lots of oak. The palate is rye, oak, nice candied caramel taste here. The finish is hot, plastic, finger nail polish remover. I think this expression by Stagg is worth trying and owning but it does fall a bit short if you have expectations based on the original Stagg expressions. B-/B

The nose on this is rye, spice, but with a slight chemical compound. The palate is dry again with moderate spice and lingering rye into the finish. The finish is tart and semi offensive. There is a lot of youth here. This is certainly a below average bourbon and was better when it was at 43.00% ABV.
