Here is a vinatage whisky that was distilled shortly before the Berlin Wall fell. Hammer Head comes from the Pradlo distillery in the Czech Republic. The distillery was recently purchased and this vintage expression was found being stored there. Hammer Head is made from local barley and aged in oak Czech Barrels. If you are a collector, then I would say this is an important expression. The nose on this is pungent with some ammonia. The palate is sour and with a slight taste of wood. The finish is light and without complexity. As previously stated, Hammer Head would be a great addition to a collection, not good for sipping.
